Darcy Smoll

Darcy Smoll Darcy Smoll  is a seasoned marketing communications professional with  over 16 years of diverse marketing experience including: marketing strategy, corporate brand management, strategic positioning, website strategy, public relations management, brand launches, collateral development, copywriting, electronic communications, promotional planning, and executive management.  Her extensive business expertise has focused on market segments such as professional services, software, e-commerce, financial services, and healthcare.  Ms. Smoll’s experience also includes industries such as fitness, performing arts, and architecture.

Ms. Smoll joined the Diboll and Associates team in 2009, having worked with the agency as a client across a 10-year period.

Previously, Ms. Smoll directed the marketing team of legal consulting services firm, LECG, headquartered in Emeryville, CA.   She was responsible for creating and implementing marketing strategies and identifying business/client development opportunities; maximizing the corporate brand, executing internal and external marketing communications, implementing web marketing strategy, developing public relations and advertising programs as well as managing and evaluating general marketing initiatives. Additional responsibilities include market analysis, event strategy, agency management, and budgets. 

Prior to LECG, Ms Smoll was responsible for development of marketing plan, brand, public relations strategy, and communication methods for various market segments at location based services firm, Kivera.  There, she developed messaging and repositioned offerings, executed redesign of corporate website, launched successful press and analyst tours, initiated long-term relationships with industry experts, and introduced a new, flexible marketing collateral suit.  She also hired and managed public relation, web design, creative services agencies.

At E-Color, Inc., an e-commerce software company, she held responsibility for the communications strategy, corporate web site, public relations, brand identity, events, content development, copyediting, and agency management.  Accomplishments included: establishing brand strategy and standards manual, repositioning web strategy and messaging, conducting website redesign with new branding, directing public relations agency and plan, contributing to advertising strategy, developing modular collateral and sales kits, and managing direct marketing initiative.

Within the software division of Dana Commercial Credit, she was in charge of marketing communications strategy, brand, and promotion. Her contributions included positioning for corporate acquisition strategy, and developing core strategy for new corporate positioning, naming, branding, and launch.  There, she redefined corporate image, developed product identity, and managed product launches as well as implemented public relations strategy, established Internet presence, and directed the development of an award-winning marketing collateral suite and product packaging.

In the healthcare industry, she launched her marketing career at Dental Benefit Providers, and was responsible for marketing planning, proposal management, and collateral development. She created and executed marketing communications plan for western region, implemented company-wide proposal process, efficiently managed RFP deadlines, coordinated direct mail campaigns, planned and organized industry events, and designed and produced marketing materials.

Ms. Smoll earned her bachelor of science degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and has completed coursework in integrated marketing communications, marketing strategy, and product marketing at the University of California, Berkeley, Extension Program.
