Austin Edgington

Austin Edgington Austin Edgington, a 25 year marketing communications veteran, began his technology marketing career in Sydney, Australia as a copywriter for various radio stations, including the wildly popular 2TripleM-FM, where he created the first radio advertising campaign for Amstrad computers, as well American Express, Pepsi, Corn Nuts and more international consumer and technology brands.

Upon returning to the United States in 1993 Austin performed public relations and marketing duties for Universal Games, a leading toy and game company before joining the ranks of the high-tech public relations executives of the emerging Silicon Valley. During the early dotcom days he held senior positions with both multi-national companies and start ups, including Novell with newly appointed CEO Eric Schmidt, (now CEO of Google), and CacheFlow, (now Blue Coat Systems), whom he introduced to the US and EMEA markets and positioned for its successful initial public offering.

In the late nineties Austin was recruited by USWeb/CKS, (later marchFIRST), to help establish their San Francisco based public relations office. There he led the first media & analyst programs for Tivoli, later sold to IBM, acquired ACT! Software as a client and was the account lead for Talarian, a financial software company, among others.

In 2008 he returned to Australia to lead Fleishman-Hillard’s technology practice as vice president. He developed and lead public relations programs for AT&T, CSC, Huwaei, Serena Software, Sierra Wireless and more, as well revitalize the practice with new business development, marketing and branding activities; including a RFP response and pitch for CheckPoint Software AU.

Austin has also held senior position with Spiralgroup, a social media/marketing consultancy in San Francisco, and founded the popular Hollywood by the Bay, northern California’s premier networking and educational forum for screenwriters, resulting in many options and sales for writers.

He lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area’s mid-peninsula where he develops and executes strategic communications, marketing and public relations programs for b2c and b2b clients. An avid writer, Austin is currently working on an original screenplay and can often be found cycling in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
